This passage says, “Wives, be subject to your husbands as
you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is
the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior. (Ephesians
5:22-23)” But I don’t think this is meant to be a bad thing in the Bible, it is
says in verse 24 “Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought
to be, in everything, to their husbands.” To me this is saying that every
decision that is made for the household should be made together. This puts man
and wife on the same level.
Yes it does say that “the husband is head of the wife (Eph
5:23)” but it later states that “wives ought to be in everything (Eph 5:24).” I
think this is saying that man and wife should work together, they are a partnership.
Not one person is more important than the other. They must work together to
accomplish the goals they have. I think that this shows that Christianity isn’t
about saying that men are in charge and they control the house but shows that
they have to work together.
Later it states that “Each of you, however, should love his
wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband (Eph 5:33).” I think
this shows that spouses are supposed to love and support one another. It is an
equal partnership that God has created and he is making them equal in this
passage.

While I do agree that wives and husbands should have an equal partnership and that the reading doesn't go into more detail about the roles of women. However readings like 1 Timothy go into more detail and makes it more clear that men have more power in the relationship and the women are obviously more disadvantaged. Women aren't aloud to speak out or teach and the only way to be forgiven for their sin (Eve's sin) is to bear children and used the story of Adam and Eve to justify the place of men and women
